SAFETY LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS
We offer Safety Leadership Programs for Supervisors, Managers, and Trainers working in high-risk industries. These intensive programs use simulated critical risk events to enhance collaboration and problem solving while instilling key leadership principles. Safety Leadership: Incident investigation
Who is this program for?
Supervisors, managers, trainers and anyone involved in developing SOP's/SWMS for high-risk, operational environments.
What is the program objective?
Participants will look at SOPs/SWMS from a wider perspective taking into account unforeseen risk. They will develop advanced skills in investigating, analysing and planning in response to near misses or incidents.
What is the process?
Supported by a facilitator, participants analyse and discuss a critical risk event. As a group they explore methods to effectively collect critical information relating to the event and plan effective actions.
How is the program delivered?
A facilitator guides participants through a simulated critical event using video conferencing sessions. The group explore how to capture critical information at different stages on the event timeline. The facilitator reinforces the safety incident investigation process including:
What is the time commitment?
Session 1
The program starts with a
1.5-hour virtual session where participants collaborate and problem-solve using a simulated critical event.
Activity
Participants have 1 week to complete the individual task requirement for the program. The facilitator provides virtual support for all participants while the task is undertaken. Participants should allow 2 to 3 hours to complete the task.
Session 2
The program concludes with a
1-hour revision session discussing how a revised SOP/SWMS would reflect the critical information discussed to reduce the risk of future incidents.
